Halloween Weekend!

Wow, its been awhile since I have done this. Time flies whether you are having fun or not I suppose.
This weekend I spent at a Young Single/Single Adult Converence. I was actually on the committee helping out for it. Up to this weekend I was very unhappy and unexcited about doing this. It just seemed like a big boring event.
But I ended up meeting a ton of great people, and learned a lot of great things. Goodness, I even made some goals! (not that never happens!)
Goal #1- Get my butt back to the temple.
Goal #2- Buy one 30 day food storage each month for a year.

*Since these are rather lofty goals, I think I will stick with them and see how it goes.

Anyway, we are getting a new Temple President here at the Winter Quarters Temple, so there was a fireside for the Butlers to speak. They also spoke at the conference we had this weekend. Sister Butler talked about leaving your problems at the door. (Cuz you know, they will still be there when you are done!)
She also spoke of her own mother and her hard life. She had a 3rd grade education, then started working for the neighbor down the street washing diapers for the lady's 10 kids to supplement her parents income.
When she married, she and her husband moved to Idaho, and lived in a tent for 2 years. 2 years in the winter as well!!
They were so poor, that her father pulled her mother's wisdom teeth with a pair of pliers. All four of them.
Then, she put it into perspective by telling us to take note of the name and date of the person on your paper and think about the hardships they had to endure. It would really help in keeping the noise of life out of your worship!

It was an amazing experience, and I ended up wishing it wasn't over.

Sunday Church was fantastic as well. We had an motivating discussion on Food Storage (combined with the guys) It made food storage not seem so overwhelming.
I taught Sunday School. I was okay until the Stake President walked in and sat down. Then I was a bit nervous.
Sacrament Meeting was fantastic.
All in all, I was sad to have to get back to the Work grind.
